Collector’s Corner
A Clearer Finish
If you collect wine, chances are you’ve collected glassware too.
And with it comes the ritual: rinsing carefully, avoiding residue, holding stems up to the light —only to notice the water spots you somehow missed.
After a dinner party, the task becomes even more tedious. Hand-polishing every glass before it goes back into the cabinet, buffing away streaks, hoping nothing slips, and hoping you don’t break a glass in the process.
It’s one of those small frustrations every wine lover understands.
Clear360 was designed to solve exactly this problem. Engineered specifically for fine stemware, it safely dries and polishes glasses without lint, streaks, or endless hand buffing.
For collectors who value presentation as much as preservation, it offers something simple but meaningful: clarity without the chore.
Wine Storage Management members may enjoy 15% off Clear360 wine glass polishers and accessories, because a beautifully stored wine deserves a beautifully polished glass.

Stability Over Perfection
Collectors sometimes ask whether their storage conditions are “perfect.” The truth is that wine does not require perfection; it requires consistency.
Small fluctuations are natural. What matters most is avoiding dramatic swings in temperature and humidity. Stability protects structure, preserves cork integrity, and allows wine to evolve as intended.
As warmer months approach, it is a good time to appreciate the systems working quietly behind the scenes to maintain that consistency.
At Wine Storage Management, we offer state-of-the-art refrigeration systems with built-in redundancies to keep your wine collection stored at the ideal temperature. WSM continuously monitors all facilities for temperature changes and water intrusion.
Wine ages best when it rests undisturbed in a stable environment and that is what we are proud to provide.
Cellar Care Tip of the Month
The Role of Humidity
Temperature tends to get the most attention, but humidity plays an equally important role.
Proper humidity helps:
Prevent corks from drying out
Reduce oxidation risk
Maintain long-term bottle integrity
Support graceful aging
Too little humidity can compromise corks. Too much can damage labels. The goal is balance - typically between 60–70%.
At WSM, humidity is monitored continuously to ensure corks remain healthy and wines remain protected.
What’s in the Cellar
Age-Worthy Whites
When collectors think of aging wine, red often comes to mind first. But many white wines develop extraordinary complexity over time.
Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Riesling, and select Rhône varieties can gain texture, depth, and nuance with proper storage. As spring unfolds, it may be worth reviewing which bottles are entering their ideal drinking window — and which deserve continued patience.
Some top white wines to consider opening now, if you have them in your collection:
German Riesling (5-15+ years): Develops petrol, dried fruit, and honey notes while maintaining high acidity.
Hunter Valley Semillon (10+ years): Transforms from light to toasted, savory, and complex.
White Burgundy/Chardonnay (5-10 years): Oaked versions (e.g., Meursault) develop hazelnut, butter, and dried fruit.
Austrian Grüner Veltliner Smaragd (10+ years): Full-bodied with white pepper and intense fruit.
Assyrtiko (Santorini) (5-10 years): Develops remarkable depth, salinity, and texture.
White Rioja (5-15 years): Often shows high acidity with nutty, caramel, and oxidative notes.
Storage Spotlight
Spring often brings new releases, allocation offers, travel purchases, and winery shipments. All of these are opportunities - but without thoughtful receiving, they can also introduce stress, delay, or disruption to your collection’s stability.
That’s where our WSM Exclusive Receiving Service comes in. Whether you are:
Shipping directly from a winery
Accepting allocation orders
Having bottles routed from multiple producers
Picking up crates during a trip
Our receiving service ensures:
Immediate notification upon arrival
Proper placement into stable storage
Peace of mind when wines move
This service becomes essential in spring, the season when bottles often travel, land, and then sit waiting for attention.
It’s a behind-the-scenes detail, but one that protects stability and preserves your long-term plans.
If you’d like to review or activate this service for upcoming shipments, we’re here to help.
A Thought from the Cellar
Balance
Balance defines great wine, and it defines great storage.
Temperature and humidity. Patience and enjoyment. Long-term aging and everyday drinking.
Behind the scenes, we focus on maintaining that balance so your collection can evolve exactly as intended.
Until next month,
